DESCRIPTION:
If you're looking for a coffee table with a unique mid-century modern design, look no further. We are excited to introduce, The Chilumba Coffee Table. The raw beauty of this African Mahogany tree is highlighted in this one of a kind coffee table designed by Jamar Simien. This original piece of functional art is named after the town of Chilumba, which is located in Northern Malawi, next to Lake Malawi.
All of our work is handmade of repurposed indigenous materials. The character of the grain pattern on this Mahogany cookie slab is stunning. The legs are made of repurposed steel rebar in a village outside of Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. Designed in Accra, Ghana and developed in Malawi, our coffee table series is modern and is the perfect way to celebrate the uniqueness and value of exotic wood.
ART GOES GREEN:
In partnership with Root to Fruit, we are pledging to plant 15 fruit trees in the country of Malawi when this table is sold. The client can choose the tree species, will receive a certificate from the non-profit organization, and will also have a GPS location of where their trees have been planted in Africa.
