DESCRIPTION:
If you're looking for a truly one of a kind desk with a unique mid-century modern design, look no further. We are excited to introduce, The Nglande Desk. The raw beauty of this African Mahogany tree is highlighted in this one of a kind desk designed by Jamar Simien. This original piece of functional art is named after the word for tunnel in Chichewa, the native dialect of Malawi.
All of our work is handmade of repurposed indigenous materials. The character of the grain pattern on this Mahogany slab is stunning. This particular slab was yielded from a 100 year old tree sustainably sourced from Malawi in 2019. The tapered trapezoid legs are made of steel.
ART GOES GREEN:
In partnership with Root to Fruit, we are pledging to plant 15 fruit trees in the country of Malawi when this table is sold. The client can choose the tree species, will receive a certificate from the non-profit organization, and will also have a GPS location of where their trees have been planted in Africa.
